Effort, Quality, Profiles...It all matters in the search for marriage

More and more Muslims are signing up for Marriage Apps, such as Joon Muslim Marriage, to find love. As the internet age continues to grow, it seems that more and more users are putting in less effort, expecting the same results.

You are the one in control of your search for a spouse. If you put in low effort, expect little to no results. If you put in some effort and work, you can expect to get higher quality results with better matches. Signing up is just the start of the search, for the best experience, you will need to have a complete bio and at least 6 photos!

At Joon, we have seen many people sign up with just 1 or 2 photos and a bio that says "hey". These profiles are considered to be low quality profiles and get extremely little engagement from other users. We recommend each user to put in some work, have some quality photos posted and answer at least 3 profile prompts with engaging information that someone else can interact with.

Photos are another area that are extremely important are to make sure to spend some time. Photos that clearly show what you look like, in interesting situations and of you smiling help users feel more comfortable with your profile as well as get to know about your likes, interests and hobbies.

Do not post the same photo more than once. Make sure each photo is unique and different from the others. You want at least 2-3 photos that are of you, alone, by yourself, showing your face and body. The other 2-3 photos can be with you and someone else, you do not want to be in a photo of too many other people however, because then you can get lost in the photo!

Some tips to help get matches faster include:
-Have a full and complete profile with 6 photos, and more profile prompts answered, with quality info
-Send a thoughtful message that follows Islamic Guidelines and keep it halal.
-Do not send a “hey/hi” only. Send something longer that is related to the person or profile or ask a question. You only get one “first chance” to send a message to this profile, so make it a quality message.
